There are 3 questions you must answer before you begin making a visualisation:
- Who is your audience?
- What is the purpose of the visualisation?
- What is the desired outcome?
The Gestalt principles of visualisation are a set of ideas about information processing and pattern recognition from 20th century psychology. We tend to use some of them without realising, but others require a more conscious effort. They are Connection, Proximity, Closure, Similarity, Enclosure and Continuity.
